Strengths
- Simple install. One shell command, no Node or Python needed.
- Safe defaults. Approvals and OS sandbox stay on.
- Parallel subagents in isolated git worktrees. Working copy stays clean.
- Crash-safe sessions. Event log allows exact resume.
- Standard project files. AGENTS.md applies, with CLAUDE.md fallback.
Limitations
- Beta. Behavior changes between releases.
- macOS and Linux only. Windows needs WSL2.
- No free tier. Payment method required before first run.
- Single model. No fallback if Muse Spark struggles on a stack.
Where it fits
Muse Code fits terminal work across repos with review. It suits AGENTS.md projects and CI headless runs with muse exec.
Current assessment
Muse Code is in active use. Install and safety posture are strong for a beta. Depth of review will grow with sustained use.
